In math we begin a new unit on positions, identifying and locating “positions” (below, over, under, on, off, in, out, in-between, etc.) (Math SOL K.12). In science we will continue with our study on the flow and properties of water. (SOL K.5)
SOL 3.5 The student compare and contrast characters, settings, and events. We will also be working on the Reading comprehension strategy of summarizing.
Please read each night for 15 minutes and ask questions to your child about what they read. This will help increase their understanding of the text and build vocabulary skills.
SOL 3.5, 3.6, and 3.19. We will continue a unit on multiplication. They will have to know multiplication and division facts, how to represent them with strategies (arrays, groups of, skip counting), and we will discuss finding patterns in the multiplication and division facts.
Please review addition and subtraction facts each night. This will help your child know facts by memory.
